"Be prepared to spend money"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

I bought off the NZ Police.

LPG unit pack in.

Wiring was a mess.

Leaked water on the first day.

General comments?

Good thrash car handles everything.

Takes down Japanese cars.

Does a mean burnout for LPG.

Cheap on gas while gas prices rise LPG does not.

The VP Police Pack is a mean machine for 1992-3.

Good handling and fast acceleration leave other standing still spinning their wheels.

I have a 92 VP and have trouble with the central locking. I can lock it, but can't unlock it. "Very troublesome" But other wise is a great car very quick.

I purchased my vp around 97' it had 150 thou on the clock. I still own it today. problems: crank angle sensor, rear swaybar bushes, bad handbrake, poor cooling system, trim falling apart, roof lining collapsing, replaced water pump, replaced harmonic balancer, replaced gearbox, leak in boot, central locking playing up glovebox lock replaced, etc etc. But overall a good reliable car, parts are easily within reach, it goes like a rocket outgunning newer commodore sixes.I've thrashed it heaps and had numerous photos taken.I'll drive her till she dies.

OK, I didn't drive her till she died. Eventually was falling apart, plus cooling system causing hospital visit. Sold it and now driving an XR6t :)
