"The definition of Ram Tough, unbeatable and unbreakable"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Fried the ignition control module hooking up an after market tach, (I hear this is easy to do) lost the alternator, (Now somebody tells me they don't work well packed with mud!!! Guy down at the auto store asked me if it was off of a farm tractor :) ) battery (Previous owner didn't strap it down and it bounced around until it collapsed inside. Pos terminal got really warm like it shorted, fixed that now.) and voltage regulator (with a mudded alternator and shot battery gonna happen eventually) this occured while almost submerging the vehicle in a mud bog and bouncing the truck down a rocky trail. Previous owner beat the inside and the headliner was falling down so I ripped it all down now its just metal. Personally I like it better that way. Gas mileage makes my wallet go ouch. 360ci=bad gas mileage, but lots of torque. Ony other thing is the steering box problem known with Ram Chargers and I probably will eventually fix it by replacing it with a borgeson. And a little bit of rust in the rear quarters.

General comments?

This truck is a truck. It isn't an SUV it is a truck! I dare "SUV's" to do what I have done with this truck and have the truck make it home. If I can say one thing it is that I bought this truck just to have fun off-road and beat on it. (Since doing what I could with it and deciding it was worth keeping and that I couldent kill it LOL I have since stopped beating on it it is going to have some engine work done and a paint job.) It will take anything you throw at it and keep going asking for more. This truck is the definition of Ram Tough. I have had mud come up through the 4x4 shift boot with mud 1/4 of the way up the doors and the truck wouldent quit. I love my Ram Charger and I have actually thought about getting a service block and rebuilding it before getting a newer vehicle. It has a 2 inch lift with 31 inch BFGoodrich all terrains on it so I'm sure that helps, but all else is stock. If you can get one do it.

I love both of my Ramchargers and they are tougher than anything I've ever know. I have an 87 and a 89, and they both can move. The 87 has a 360 with a 650 Edelbrock carb, and the 89 has a 318 throttle body injection. Personally the bigger the engine the better, but it makes your wallet like you said go ouch, LOL MOPARS FOREVER!!!
