2002 Chevrolet Malibu LS from North America - Comments

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Brakes and more brakes.

Have brought vehicle in at least 5 times since owned with concerns on bad pulsations and steering wheel shakes. Dealerships machined rotors 4 different times and replaced pads and rotors once at about 32000 kms.

They now tell me that I have to replace my rotors and pads after about 32000 kms of highway driving (they say that there is about 10% left on the front and 80 % on the rear) This tells me that there is a problem with the front brakes (possibly calipers sticking or something)

General comments?

GMC says that they have covered my concerns while under warranty and I will have to have repairs done at my cost.

Think I will be buying an import next time.

This is an update since I last submitted entry

I was sick and tired of dealing with poor customer relations and dealership telling me that they will good will my brake concern for a mere 200.00 and that they were doing me a favour in doing so.What a joke. I went out and bought an import and love it. Took a loss getting rid of the malibu, but glad it is gone. Should have never bought a domestic especially since my sister had the same concerns with her grand am (replacing brakes at least once a year)

No wonder domestic manufactures are having difficulties selling their products now days. More and more people are looking for a company that will stand behind their product and imports seem to be the way to go.
