"It would be nice if it didn't smell like mold and have this water problem"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

CD player and clock stoped working.

I keep getting water under the passenger side floor mat. When I do not put the mat down the water goes away. Th CC runs right under the passenger side I think it may be condesation ??? From the heat of the CC. I have had it to the dealer twice and they cleaned out the evaporator drain. I took all the carpet out looked for a leak myself and found nothing. When I put the mat down the water comes back. I am considering taking the CC out and running a straight pipe to see if the probelm goes away with the reduced heat. I am worried about if it will run with the O2 sensor not sensing the right pressure?

General comments?

Nice looking car I wish I had a dependable car I could drive while I have it in the shop!

Remember, you have to roll your windows UP when going through the car wash!

I have a 2004 Colorado, 4 cylinder, 5 speed, it is your basic truck. I have water problems also. Over the weekend in the beginning of last winter we had gotten some snow, a couple of inches. I hadn’t driven the truck all weekend, so Monday morning I went out and started the car to warm it up from sitting all weekend. Mind you all the snow that was left from the weekend was about 2 inches on my windshield and none on the ground. When I went to go to work I had a puddle on the driver side. Went directly to the car dealer and of course they could not find anything. They determine it was from my boots or snowbrush. There was no snow left on the ground and being 2” of snow on bottom part of the windshield I did not use my snow brush. Since then I have on occasion water on the floor, after a heavy rain or snow melting on the truck. Fortunately I do not have carpeting, so only occasionally I smell mold.

Maybe have your windshield looked at, I have a 2003 grandprix that was getting water puddling up on the passenger floor after it rained really good or if snow would sit on my windshield and melt. Found out that the wind shield wasn't sealed proper. First they resealed the windshield, but was still happening so took it back and found out that they didn't put the plastic gaurd at the bottom back proper but now no leaks. Not sure how it had anything to do with it, but I do know it fixed it. Don't take it to a dealer go to a glass shop and they will probally be able to fix it.

There may be a hole in the firewall.

Your problem with the leak is most probably as a result of an open left or right roof weld seam under the ditch molding at the windshield. There is a Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) out titled "Water Leak Left Right Floor - kw GMT355 roof molding joint left right panel seam top seal pillar #PI01943 - (04/01/2004) ". This applies to vehicles built before 02/25/2004. Note that this is unlikely to be a do-it-yourself fix. Good luck.
