General comments?

An amazing car. Handles like a champ, Acceleration is great. Gas consumption is great. When I first got the car I topped her out at around 150mph.

If your VIN# starts with the letter J it is a japan assembled car. Mine does.

I bought it for $5000 CDN 10 years ago.

You did not get this car upto 150mph, sorry I have a 91 auto teg, and the maximum possible speed with the stock transmission is 136mph and that's if your on a freakin 3 mile long runway.

Maybe he lives in Saskatchewan, and has a 50-mile stretch of straight road to top it out.

Yeah I got mine up to 135 mph and it was struggling, by the way how much was your cv joint, mine are going out as well.

240 km/hr whatever that is in miles.

The cv joint cost $150-220 cash (something like that). It was a while ago. Unfortunately just got a new car and am selling the acura.

The CV joints are about $50-60 apiece if you do them yourself. It's not difficult.

How come I can toast ANY stock, non-gsr Integras with my 124mph 1986 VW Scirocco 16v?

240km/h is actually 150mph. Bear in mind thought fellows that it IS possible that our friend observed this. That's an INDICATED speed that the speedo shows, not TRUE speed. Every speedometer has an error of some sort. Legally a manufacturer may allow indicated speed to show HIGHER than true speed, but not lower. Typically speedometers will have error anywhere from 10 to 20 mph or km/h. Another possibility is that if the tyres that are on this car are smaller in diameter than stock then the speedo will have another error, showing a higher indicated speed than true.

The reason for the 'rocco toasting integras is the fact the vw is probably a lighter car.

Yes, I own a teg and will admit it's no match for the 16v VW's. They don't need to be modified and I think Scirocco is one of the lightest (and nicest looking). Need a GS-R to keep up. Teg should be much more reliable though and has more space, which is why I bought one.
