I bought my 2001 Chevy blazer with 30000 miles. Took it in to a Chevy dealers at 40000 miles it has been there a month. The transmission has to be replaced the bearings also, the mechanic told me that it had been worked on before. Total cost to drive it out as of today? $2800. I will never and I mean never by a anything Chevy again...
Cars, already worked on before? NO WAY!!!
Seems as though your trying to blame everything on GM.
What does the time it's been at the shop have to do with
the car review? Seems as though your trying to make some
correlation between GM products and the laziness of your
local mechanic. Dealers are just that, dealers.
You said the trannsmission went and the bearings have to
replaced also. No doubt that before you had trouble with the
tranny that the fluid was brown or black, and burnt. Ever
hear of a trannsmission filter and fluid change? Or, you are
probably one of those people who are to lazy to come to a
complete stop before shifting into drive after rolling
backwards, that's how you break the forward clutch hub.
As far as the bearings...???
OK...muffler bearings or what?!?
Yea there's this thing called maintenance, you should
look into it. Cars don't fix or service themselves.
The truck was purchased used anyway! Do you have any idea what was done to the truck before you owned it? I bought mine with 75,000 miles on it and it runs like new! Don't post a negative review about something just because yours happened to break due to yours and the previous owners negligence.
GM no longer makes a quality car and they repeat their mistakes year after year without fixing or acknowledging the problems. I am a former GM employee and have always bought GM. However, with 2 kids in college, I can no longer afford the GM repair bills. My next new vehicle will not be GM.
Four out of my five cars have had the coolant gasket leak repaired ($800 a pop/3 vehicles I made a 50/50 split with GM and one was under warranty). The details were 2000 Grand Am 48,000 miles, 2000 GMC Sonoma 90,000 miles, 2001 Blazer 68,000 miles, 2001 Regal 3,000 miles. Recliner seat broke on Blazer, week later, recliner seat broke on Sonoma.
Door hinge & bushings bad on two GMC Sonomas. Now we are starting the redos - coolant leaking on Grand Am again after 14 months. Upper Ball joints replaced on Blazer at 66,000 miles and 16 months later, they need to be replaced again. The service man told me his wife's car has the same problem and he has replaced the ball joints twice in a year. This really makes me feel all better about spending the $500 to have the thing fixed. Just tact it on to the annual expense for oil changes.
These are just the items that have gone bad recently. Doesn't include the major items covered by extended warranty with a $200 deductible.
The reason for the recliner seats going out in such a close time frame from each other is simple, too many doughnuts.
I'm sorry, but the fact that you people are siding with GM and making it sound like this person is full of it is totally ridiculous. I had the same exact problems with my Blazer and I came from a GM only family! And I wouldn't say that I'll never buy another GM vehicle, just NEVER another Blazer, because they stink! And trust me: you don't have to do anything to the stupid thing to make it break down; it does that just fine on it's own!
