1985 Chevrolet Camaro RS from North America - Comments

"Gets alot of looks, great car!!"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Oxygen sensor after 200,000.

Disk + brake pads.

Oil change every 3000.

General comments?

This is a very good car. Reliable and fast plus it has a lot of power for a V6

It is also very good on gas, unless you kill the speed on the highway in that case you go on empty in no time.

Aggressive look and nice engine sound, specially if you add a 3 inch tail pipe.

Handles very well for a muscle car.

This car is amazing for it's engine size. Obviously if it were the 5.7 V8 it would be a monster. But never the less it packs a good punch and it will last for a very long time.

Please don't call your V6 Camaro a muscle, and do not compare your 115HP wanna be sports car to the real Camaro - the Z28. How fast do you think your car is, I'll tell you,0-60 in 12 sec's. I have a 2001 Trans Am with 325HP and I and all muscle/performance car owners and drivers do

not think your car is a muscle car. FYI, muscle cars have

large and powerful engines, not weak 6 cylinders.

It's funny really, you say just because his camaro is a v6 its not a muscle car, that's cool, so what happens if he drops in say a 383 stroker with 450+ hp then what does that make it? I suggest you think before you post arrogant, ignorant comments.

The motor is one of the most important parts that make up a muscle car. A 2.8 or 3.1 or whatever it is, doesn't make it a muscle car.

A V-6 Camaro is not a muscle car. What most people agree on for a definition of a muscle car involves a 2-door, rear wheel drive sport coupe/sedan/convertible with a V-8 that made a stock +350 horsepower. And some people would say that the muscle car era runs only from 1964 (when the GTO came out) to 1971 (the last year of high horsepower engines before being detuned for emissions). That would not only exclude any V-6 Camaro, but any 1985 Camaro regardless of what aftermarket magic was worked on it. Don't get angry about it, just read and learn that lots of other people think differently than you.

V6 or V8 is not the point, the point is that it's a camaro, and that is a car of it's own. All Camaro owner are in it together no matter what your cylinder size. And by the way a camaro IROC stock can be beat by a Honda Civic off the blocks since its heavy as an elephant. The V8 engine is only good for once you reach top speeds. Next time actually try something before you make a comment.

All the true muscle cars ended production after 1970 when the government instituted regulations. The Camaro would be able to beat the Civic because of its rear wheel drive acceleration, which provides more torqUe. In case you didn't know torque is used for the initial launch of the car and then that's when the horsepower kicks in. Anyway THERE IS NO TUNER (CIVIC, SUPRA, SKYLINE, ETC.) THAT CAN BEAT A TRUE MUSCLE CAR. LET ANY TUNER RACE AGAINST ANYTHING WITH A 426 HEMI AND YOU WILL SEE WHAT A REAL MUSCLE CAR IS.
