First of all, all the gauges and dash lights just stop working and come on all of sudden.
Second of all, the check engine light comes on and goes off.
SO I was wondering if anyone has this same problem and could give me some advice before I go to the dealer and spend alot of money? Someone please help me out?
I have a 2001 4.0 L, I have had the same problem with the check engine light periodically. The dash computer would say "CHECK GAS CAP", then when you rest it, the check engine light came on. You must ensure the gas cap is tight and clicks at least 3 times. I did this. The light stayed on. Eventually it went off and I haven't seen it since. I also have the problem with some of the lights being out, specifically the steering wheel lights, shift column (never worked) and several others. I would like to fix them as well if I knew the do-it-yourself cure.
