I haven't really had many problems the my Mazda Tribute only the front 2 bearings and springs had to be replaced as they were creaking when turning sharply, but was fixed under warranty.
Sun-roof button keep ed getting stuck to the on position.
Paint work was shocking after 4 years the paint had lost its shine and had turned very very dull, but a few months ago the car was caught in a hail storm and had to get a re-spray.
In 2002 all the paint had peeled off the roof racks and Mazda said that the roof racks were an accessory and were only covered with a 1Yr warranty even though we bought the car with the roof racks already on and were not bought as an accessory.
Apart from the slight problems with it it is a great car, very peppy and a good all rounder. The car handles very well and has a good power to weight ratio.
There are more problems and faults with the American built Tribute then the Japanese built tribute.
You were lucky with this one.
I happen to work for a Mazda service shop, and I think the Tribute is junk!
All the other Mazda's, apart from the South-African-built B2500 Freestyle Automatic, are fine cars, but the Tribute is the one big exception.
We've had more ECU failures in Tributes than I care to remember, and they are extremely difficult to diagnose, even with special Mazda service instruments.
Did you know that the Tribute is made by Ford?
Not even the engine is Mazda-designed.
My Tribute just stopped closing right because a $2 spring broke. I have to buy a whole handle assembly for only $520.00.
Hi, I would like buy a tribute (classic), it has done 130000ks, exterior and interior very emmaculate, but gives a knocking sound when appl brake, the oil sum was wet with oil, and if raise rev on park, it jerks after the rev goes past 4.
