"A beast, and a posing machine"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Nothing.

General comments?

The Asia Rocsta is the best car I have driven. I took it off-road for the first time yesterday and it handled like a dream.

I recently got a hold of battered little Rocsta R1. And I still love it despite its shedding skin.

It's a marvel offroad. And I plan to compete it offroad, after some very needed modifications, like high lifts... do you know of any after market soft ride suspensions?

I have owned a Rocsta 2.2 diesel DX from new in 1995. Although perhaps not ideal for an only vehicle it is an excellent 2nd vehicle for my wife & fun use, especially in the summer with the top off. Has been reliable and reasonable on running costs/servicing/maintenance. Bodywork is still in very good condition, intend keeping it for many years to come. One present problem- availability of parts- waiting for a handbrake cable for MOT (waited two weeks so far, no signs of dealer supplying, therefor VOR at the moment). Can anyone help with this please?

Quite ironic that you are also waiting on a handbrake cable for the MOT. I am also waiting on one of these and an offside mirror replacement. The garage has told me that it could take up to 2 months for these to come through and to see if I can find somewhere else that might get them sooner.

Do any of you know of a parts supplier in the UK that is likely to have these in stock??

Thanks.

I have a Rocsta 1800dx petrol. It's been a good motor except for having to replace the rear tailpipe twice in 5 years and needing it again. Seems to be some type of flaw where the pipe bends over the rear axle. I know there are difficulties getting parts and would like to do some work on my motor so perhaps someone can tell me where I could get a workshop manual?

I have just got a rocster and I am very pleased with it, but keep looking for places that do parts. Have found one in Essex where I have just got a speedo cable in 2 days, it's called 5 star and the number is 01708742525.

If anybody knows where I can get a manual and more parts, email dirty_@blueyonder.co.uk

Thanks.

I am from Malaysia, and I do not know if the problem of getting spare parts of some relatively unknown vehicle manufacturer is the same here and there.

Because the Rocsta is affordable, I am keen on getting it. Can anyone assure me it's a good buy or tell me otherwise? What is the comfortability like? Does the dashboard or panel vibrate and make a noise over bumps? Can the suspension be made to feel like a car?

Thanks

I have recently purchased a Rocsta 2.2DX, I wanted to modify it for proper off-road use. I found it very difficult finding anybody who knew anything about Rocstas but I eventually found a guy in Germany who was very helpful, knows everything about Rocsta's and can get almost any parts! This is his email address; info@geithner.de.

If anybody knows where I can get workshop manuals or engineering parts drawings could they let me know please.

We own a Rocsta DXL 1.8l engine since new from 1997.

Originally intended to export to Botswana to use it off road there, I never went back, and we got stuck with the car to drive around in Holland.

We actually enjoyed the car very much, especially with the roof off.

We drove for 38 000 km, and the only problem recently is that the exhaust seems to detached from the main collector. Not really a big deal, since the noise coming from this area is not extravagant.

Engine is strong in all gears and we took it on the highway several times to the south of France. It cruises comfortably at around 130 km/h.

We use it mainly to bring the kids to school and consider selling it to buy something more appropriate now.

Any offer at gilles_reveillac@hotmail.com would be consider and replied.

I've had my Asia Rocsta 1.8 for just over 6 months now. I really love it but like everyone I have real trouble getting parts.

I am trying to sort this by finding a reliable supplier. If I find one I'll let you know.

Anyone fancy starting a club and perhaps pooling our info.

If you would like to exchange any info etc. please email me.

I am one of the few remaining owners of a Rocsta in South Africa. While I have enjoyed owning it, getting parts is a major problem and my particular vehicle seems to have a defective gearbox. First I had to replace the gearbox at 53000km now its the transfer box at 83,000km. Does anyone have one of these as there do not seem to be any in S. A and I will have to do a conversion if it can't be found. Has anyone else had gearbox problems?

Plse email Doug on wlswil002@gsb.uct.ac.za.
