2nd gear shift solenoids in the auto transmission: cost $500.
Great truck. Minimal repairs. The mileage could be better. Only get 20 mpg. The mid-sized v-6 lack power for the mileage. My previous Ranger got 27 mpg with the 4 cylinder, 5 speed, which had nearly as much power as this one.
Its well known that auto trannies are not as fuel efficent as manuals nor do they have as much power. A revved up 4 cyl 5 speed manual can easily feel like a v6 4spd automatic.
My advice: Look up gas saving tips. There are tons of them.
