"Old School Muscle"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Turn signal was out the day I picked the car up from the previous owner (also had an empty gas tank, thank you very much).

Numerous creaks, rattles, squeaks, thuds, and other noises. No wind noise from the t-tops though, thankfully.

Pulls to the right.

The clutch and rear-end worry me, as does the Optispark.

The car's gas tank doesn't take anything less than 20$ no matter what.

General comments?

Seats are sub-par, and the interior has a very cheap feel to it. Basic GM quality.

The turn signal stalk takes both hands to activate.

Stock radio and speakers are OK if you only listen to AM newscasts, otherwise they are meant to be tossed.

T-tops are prone to leaking, whistling, and just generally not working well.

ENGINE. I write this in capital letters Because it is the sole reason anyone buys this car. I didn't buy this car for comfort, gas mileage, or interior amenities. I bought it to hit the gas and GO - and GO it does. It has 6 gears, and a tall enough rear end to get it well over 100mph. This car is a bow-racer's dream, a redneck's Ferrari. It is the ultimate bang for the buck.

This is a followup to my original review:

These cars are poorly built with the exception of the engine, and anyone looking to buy one should accept as fact that you wil have to hunt down leaks, creaks, rattles, and other oddities through the course of ownership.

I currently have a rear caliper that sticks after sitting for long periods of time, an oil leak from the rear main seal, and most importantly a bad piece of weatherstripping somewhere that, when parked facing downhill, allows enormous amounts of water into the car. We are talking gallons here, and it is embarrassing. The cabins on these cars are notorious for poor sealing, and there are people online who have puddles underneath the rear seats that they cannot account for.

Unless you have a garage, I urge you not to buy one of these cars. I am learning the hard way that weatherstripping is very important.

^ Likely these "mystery puddles" in the rearseat footwells are actually coming down from the passenger-side firewall (The seal along the firewall that houses the evaporator occasionally leaks condensed water.) If you're unlucky like me you don't notice it until it stinks and you end up replacing the entire carpet shell. Other than that great car I've got 156,000 on mine, still snappin necks.
