The engine light was constantly coming on.
The engine light first came on after only a couple months of owning the car. It was all down hill from there. We had that car in the shop almost every other week. They took the whole engine out - put it back in and never could figure out what was wrong with it. It was truly a lemon. I specifically wanted a Volkswagen because I had heard they were safe and reliable. Boy, that couldn't be farther from the truth!
Safe and reliable, I suspect it met that criteria.
The engine light coming on, whilst disappointing, did not prevent the car from running as you expected?
I have never owned A Volkswagen. And from the awful reviews I consistently read about them, I doubt I ever will.
