"One of the best cars around with a strong family ties"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Just bought it brand new. The doors on the drivers side have a problem shutting. It's a latch issue that occurs during shipping from Germany to USA. Its no big deal just kind of annoying. The dealer just has to reattach latch and then aline door. Fixed drivers door, but now need to fix rear door. When both are fixed they will be realigned. Dealer is great about this issue, just need to make time to go to the dealer. A really minor thing is that the tan interior in the rear door entrances get dirty really fast in entrance and exit. Would definitely recommend black interior.

General comments?

Love the car. It was made for the autobahn and it shows. Leaves BMWs and Porsches in its dust. The Tiptrontic transmission is great allowing for excellent performance. Have an 2002 passat and loved it so much that bought the new 2006. Now have three VWs. Vw is great with service and takes car of the car as if it was their own. One of the best cars ever owned. It would have been nice if the doors never had to be adjusted, but the same thing occured in the 2002 passat. Would never buy a Toyota again. Had it for 20 months and had every problem possible as Toyota just laughed at you. The passat was half of the Toyotas close to 50k price tag and is far superior. Love the VW company and strongly suggest to anyone to only buy cars from this brand family (audi, porsche, vw, and if can afford some of their premium brands). VW is always there once you join their family.

Did your kids grow up or something? You traded a minivan for a sedan.

This entry was very helpful. I have a Passat, Jetta, and a Touareg. My wife just bought a 2006, and shes crazy about the new style. My son is 17 and Bought a 2005 Jetta, Used, and I just bought the 2006 Touareg. and its okay to have a mini van, and switch to a sedan. My wife had a 2004 Town and Country Limited, and then came home and said open the garage and see what I did today. Volkswagens may not be the most reliable vehicles, but they are by far, the best on the road today.
