"This car ROC (s) -Z"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

I had to replace the brake rotors, but that's routine maintenance, so no biggie. Also, the exhaust pipe fell off, which is semi-weird because it wasn't rusted at all. This car was in a bad wreck... i mean BAD... i seriously smashed it up within an inch of its vehicular life. $6400 later, it drives so fabulously that you'd never know it was in a crash. The only thing that went wrong - and I'm sure that this is an effect of the accident - is that my mass airflow something or another failed. That was only $200 to fix, however, which is tolerable.

General comments?

This car is freaking incredible. It turns like it is on rails and shifts lanes effortlessly when cruising the freeways at 90 miles an hour. I don't race it, but it is F-A-S-T. The gas mileage is marginal, and it needs premium fuel, so be prepared to have your pocketbook violated slightly. It's got more torque than anyone should have use for. Gotta love rear wheel drive vehicles. However, they don't go for beans in the snow, and if and when you have to replace the tires, be prepared to shell out over a grand.

Hold onto and enjoy your IROC-Z, they are great cars. My dad bought an 89 IROC-Z that has 125,000 miles (with a rebuilt engine and tranny both with less than 12,000 miles) and the wonderful 5.7 (350) liter engine like yours.

Its white with t-tops and the orginal wheels, and it has ever opition too (have the original bill of sale, costed over $24000 in 1989). The previous owner made it into a show car along with several performance upgrades (exhaust, intake, tires, etc), and sold it at a loss because he didn't adjust the TV cable properly. Since then, my dad has had a b&m shift kit put in and this car flys down the street with ease.

Its still riding on the original shocks and struts so the ride is a little rough, but it surely makes up for it in handling, cornering, speed, and style. It still turns heads 15 years later, gets pictures taken of it all the time (its in show condition), and blows the doors of the majority of the cars driving on the road today.

All I can say it brings a smile to my face just riding in it, and its nice to see some of the "gems" still around turning my head like they allways do. Plus I cannot wait to dump my 96 Eagle Talon TSI AWD (very fast, runs high 12s, EXTREMELY unreliable) to get my hands on one too.

Speaking of time-ing!, 9.42 degrees totally agrees

with Mikes engine. 6.0 was poop, but you could run regular fuel!.- factory setting was 8^nice, but not that potent!.

Hey If anyone finds a DEGREE sign on this keyboard! let me know!!!..

I dunno, but if anyone els out in NJ has a

IROC-Z-28 Camaro, I think it's an 87, There getting scarce!!!
