One serious thing, and not the car's fault:
I was stuck in some snow in a parking lot one time, and turned off the Electronic traction Stability system to get the wheels spinning. I was stupid and held the dealer and it was fixed free of charge ;)
Small, picky things:
A small, small flake on the scan button on my CD deck peeled away. Barely noticeable at night when the green glow made it slightly evident. Replaced free of charge.
The drivers side window had small uniform scratch marks on it from the electric window motit at 8000rpm for too long and blew the power steering fluid pump. I took it into or or track. Again entire window replaced free of charge.
This car was my first and bought it when I graduated from high school from the dealership as a used car. It was originally a rental car so I was a bit scared to purchase her. But it runs and sounds like new, so I am guessing it was only driven by 75+ year old visitors to my city.
The V6 really gives the car some balls. Has a good jump off the start and performs exceptionally at higher speeds.
The sound system is something else. I haven't read up on the spec's of it, but it seems to be very similar to that of Pioneer or Bose. It has RDS and displays various crap broadcasted from stations, but it looks cool. Get an iTrip and your iPod will act like 1000CD's at your fingertips for the system.
The handling is unreal, and I have yet to have any issues with slipping out or skidding. The ABS and ETS just act to the control too. The car does fishtail nicely on snow when you turn the ETS off and don't get me started on cop turns in the reverse position;)
Lastly the styling of the interior is a little behind the VW, Audi, BMW, Nissan and Toyota. But you get what you pay for.
Overall, very good.
I have a similar problem with the paint flaking off of the stereo buttons. Oh well.
My Alero came from a rental fleet as well. I didn't find this out until after I had bought her. I was kind of upset, but I realized that rental companies take good care of their vehicles. It's most likely that our cars had regular care and inspections. I know I've been happy with mine so far!
In addition to the original post, I'd like to add the car has been preforming very well in the new winter environment. Often if I leave it outside on the driveway for 5+ hours on a VERY cold day, it will take three trys to start her. But if I park her indoors and/or plugged in, it starts better than in the summer. Damn the car would look unreal with Xenon/HID lights.
