2005 Nissan Narvara aventura from UK and Ireland - Comments

"Excellent go buy one now !!!!!!!!!!!"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

On Delivery I noticed the back door had been repaired (the eyelash in the paint & orange peel may have been the giveaway) the dealership said this was a paint problem and would look into making a warranty claim against Nissan !!!. apart from that I have noticed a grinding noise from the back axle I'm yet to take it to get it checked out

I'm also still waiting for my hardtop that's been on order for 6 months apart from that the car is excellent and is in a different league to the previous model, the test drive impressed me so much I traded my 8 month outlaw (the trade in cost me dearly, but the 18000 services and ride improvement make up for it.

General comments?

The car is seriously equipped the sat nav and phone kit are great, the voice recinition and the mp3 sound system are excellent,

performance is much better than the old shape Navara and the ride is much better. Fuel econ is around the 27mpg mark which is good for a vehicle of this size. The heated seats & car heater are poor and take ages to heat up also I cannot believe they missed reverse sensors off the option list as this is one BIG TRUCK to park, also lit steering controls would have been nice.

I own a 54 plate navara and when I took it for a very regular service! took the new outlaw model out and I noticed its so much better as if they got a load of D22 owners in a room and said right how can we make this truck better! Most niggles I have with mine were ironed out in the new one, but the deal fell through with it and the dealer refunded my deposit, but id say it's a massive truck compared to my model and looks so much more american, will trade up in a few years and I think the aventura will be the one, looks loads better inside and I do like the black colour.

The C clamping system in the load bay is a great idea and the dash looks more modern with the dual heater controls.

Three months ago I bought my Nissan Navara Aventura. I needed a vehicle capable of carrying building rubble etc to the dump, but also capable of driving long motorway distances. After a lot of looking around I settled for the Aventura. Three months on and 5000 miles I have had no problems. A few things have disappointed me though. I wanted a fastback hardtop, but told I would have to wait 9 months for delivery. I couldn't wait this long so opted instead for the pricier XTR Snugtop. This is fine, but makes the vehicle even more huge. Rear visibility is now impeded also as there are now two tinted windows to look through when reversing. If it's raining then there is effectively no rear visibility. Another serious omission from the specification are rearpark sensors. I feel a bit short changed here as I feel on such a large vehicle these are essential, moreso than electrically adjustable seating anyway. My only other complaint is the heating. On a cold morning it takes far too long to start warming the cab up and then when it does kick in, it seems far too hot suddenly. But overall it's a good truck and I am averaging about 26mpg. Also surprising is the fact that it never seems to run out of screen wash, and I have used a lot I'd imagine over the last few cold months. The sat nav is fantastic, as is the bluetooth hands free phone setup. In a perfect world, the fastback hardtop would be available, the heaters would work better, reversing sensors would have been fitted as standard and fuel economy would be 30mpg+. But overall... I'm happy with my lot.

I have also purchased a Nissan Navara Aventura which so far I think is great.

My only gripes are the car kit which reports from people who call me say it sounds like I am miles away and hard to hear.

I will be calling Nissan regarding this as it does put people off calling.

I also find the gear change a little clunky.

Apart from that there is nothing in the class that comes close to it and if I get these few niggles sorted I would be well and truly convinced.

If I sound a little down on it don't worry I have just purchased a second (Outlaw) for one of my workers.

I purchased a new Aventura in December, having had my last Navara for 3 years with no intention of changing, I went for a test drive of the new model Outlaw. I found the difference in comfort, quietness and power to much to resist and went for it.

Only problem I have with it is as a lot of comments say is the time it takes to heat up even after sitting in traffic jams in morning for 30 minutes temp gauge has only just come off the cold mark. Older style Navara had a better heater.

If you want a hardtop for a Navara D40, you can get one quite fast from Hardtops direct.

I purchased mine from there after being quoted £2500 from Nissan dealer, hardtops direct were only half this price including a realy fast delivery to Aberdeen.

See there website at http://www.hardtopsdirect.co.uk/contact_us.htm.

I am also having an extremely difficult time getting hold of a fastback hardtop. It was ordered over 6 Months ago and paid for 3-4 months ago when I received my vehicle on the promise that it would be with me the following week. Since then I am finding it impossible to get hold of anyone who will let me know when it is expected.

To rub salt into the wounds, I was told by a reg vardy employee that the covers are being shipped to European clients with priority as they don't think UK customers would like the styling.

Any suggestions? I have contacted the dealer, customer services, emailed complaints...etc.

Is anyone having problems with the central locking? Dealership said it was fixed mmmm... I don't leave anything of value inside. Sometimes the locking works, sometimes not.

Nissan Navara SE 2005.

Regarding the rear axle noise; my Navara was recalled re: half shaft and bearings, and they were replaced.

A noise started in the rear axle; it sounded like the brakes were binding. It turned out to be the half shaft/bearings again; the dealership put the vehicle off the road and ordered the parts about 20/06/07. The vehicle is still off the road waiting for the parts, 15/08/07.

I am not very happy. Anybody else out there the same? Mine has now done 13000 miles; not a lot for a commercial vehicle!
