"Good Truck, but is it as reliable as a Honda or Toyota??"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

At about 45K The ABS system kept running Upon finding that there is a problem with these units & the cost I pulled the fuse & continue to drive the truck brakes work fine I just don't have anti-lock brakes which is fine I didn't like the system to start with. Especially when pulling a load. I covered the brake lights with black tape.

This is not a big problem for General Motors, but a big problem for GM owners. People holler Buy American well I work for my money & I want the best for it. Glad to see Honda & Toyota are into full size trucks now. I would like to stay with Chevy, but don't want to be buying parts all the time.

Minor-One driving light burnt out. Easy to replace. How many have you seen burnt out?

Had to replace 4 X 4 selector button & motor -possibly my fault after repairing I was told you should run in 4WD about once a month for 15 miles this is suppose to keep the contacts from corroding in the switch & motor?

Power Window Switch is currently out. Apparently another common problem. The reason I say this is no local salvage yards can keep these they sell quickly. So it's off to the dealer to give them $82.00 just for the part.

Sticky Gas Pedal-Mine was buildup on the throttle return spring. Located under the throttle body black plastic cover toward the front. I remedied this by spraying throttle body cleaner on the spring while moving it back & forth & then coating the spring with Pam (non sticking cooking spray) I usually have to apply this about once every 2-3 months. I don't think it matters if you use the butter flavor or not.

General comments?

Very satisfied with the engine. Very good power even when pulling a loaded car trailer or a boat.

No Drive train Problems.

Personally I find the ride very comfortable.

I think someone mentioned 20 + mpg.

They need to get a tuneup I get 49 mpg pulling a loaded trailer up the mountains. Yea right actual is about 17-18 mpg.

If GM would admit & fix major problems with vehicles I would not hesitate to buy another one, but since there making more money on the ABS systems they apparently don't care.

I think butter flavor works better. A friend of mine recently purchased a new Honda truck. It could use a little more power, but pulls a 16 foot car hauler just fine. Hope to post more about the truck later...As far as reliability you can not beat Honda.
