Fan motor failed after 4 years.
Heater thermostat failed after 4 years.
CD player skipped badly after 3 years.
With the sun roof there is not enough head room.
Car has excellent power and handling.
I agree it's not a Camry or Accord - thankfully. The Maxima is MUCH better.
The performance edge the Maxima has and has always had over the Camry and Accord is undeniable. The Accord and Camry are fine cars, but they really don't have much character. The Maxima has loads of character. Heating steering wheel on an Accord? No. 6spd in a Camry? No.
I bought an 02 Maxima SE 3 years ago and the only complaint I have are the expensive 17 inch tires. At about $1100 (CA) for all four the wheels on the Max, it cost more that my Hankook's on my 4x4 Tacoma, I was surprised. I handles well in the winter, but the wheel wells do get a little clogged up with snow and dirt.
During the summer it puts a smile on my face every time I hit the gas, it can really pull off the line.
Great interior space, even though it may look a little small on the outside.
