You get what you pay for. Cheap car, cheaply made. Rides like I'm running on railroad tracks... outside noise with windows closed sounds like they're all open.
I have a 2002 l300 series saturn. approaching 300,000 miles. I've changed oil, tires, belt, a battery, air filters, spark plugs (once) nothing else... by far the best automobile I've owned and I have owned from the very mundane to very exotic automobiles. none of them can touch the l300 for overall reliable transportation. I commute 94 miles each way to work with this car.
Excellent! You have the V6 model?
It's just another example of American "quality". If you get one built mid-week you might get a good one if you're lucky.
Went to look at the LS at the dealership and the interior alone was so cheaply built and designed it looked like it would fall apart the second it left the showroom. No wonder the car was a failure and Saturn discontinued it.
The L300 is the best car you can get for the money, and was not discontinued because it was a failure, but rather because it inspired GM to take Saturn in a new direction, as evidenced by the release of the Sky and the upcoming Aura. I spent 7000 on a 3 year old mint L300 with 45000 miles. The same calibur used Honda or Toyota would run me atleast double that.
