The car is great, super-reliable. Not a single moving part has broken at 125k miles. Simply astounding. This car needs only oil changes and light maintenance to stay alive. Although a very comfotable ride (seats are great), it has lackluster handling. Not to say that it handles like a Buick, but you shouldn't mistake this car for a sports sedan. This is one of the best entry-luxury cars on the used market. Repairs can run a little bit on the high end, parts are expensive. However, most parts can be toyota parts, not lexus. By the way, go to the toyota dealers to fix ur lexus. you'll get a much better price!
I was just told that I need a new y pipe on my 1997 ex 300...same meilage as whne your problem occured... curios waht you paid... was quoted $610 just for the y pipe.
$610?! I paid $150 to have a new flex welded in! (the flex is the basket-weave metal part of the pipe.. that's where it usually breaks)
