Gauge indicators flicker.
Factory stereo amplifier very quiet.
Transmission starting to give trouble, rough changes.
My car is a Toyota Windom which is the Toyota version of the Lexus ES300.
Exceptional value as Lexus has a several thousand dollar premium over the Toyota version of the same car. In fact, the Windom is even cheaper than a Toyota Camry of similar year and specification on which both the ES300 and windom are based.
Absolute impeccable condition for a vehicle of 14 years old! Upholstery is almost as good as new on seats and door trims. There are no rattles, except loose change in the ashtray.
Isn't it a bit misleading to head the review as a Lexus ES300 when it is in fact a cheap Japanese domestic market Toyota Windom. I'm from New Zealand where these cars are a dime-a-dozen and come in used from Japan with no service history, no proof of how many past owners and could very likely have had the odometer wound back. I think it cheapens the Lexus name to link these vehicles with it as Lexus prides itself on providing owners with exceptional service and quality which these imported used Toyota's couldn't possibly hope to match.
I have a 92 Toyota Windom, and it drives, smells and even looks like new. It was my dad's car, and it has been off the road for over 3 years. Now I have got it, and I am putting it back on the road, and even more, I'm going to do it up, body-kit and all.
