Had the pistons replaced twice.
This is by far the worst car I have ever owned.
Should have bought another bmw. as a matter of fact that's what I did.
Dealer service is terrible they act like nothing could ever go wrong with the forester.
After the second set of pistons were put in the car I traded it in.
Would never buy another forester.
Trouble free for 32,000 miles. But I hated the way the auto transmission shifted frome 1 to 2. Not smooth at all. Also, the back seat has very little leg room. St about 32k miles the check engine light came on. Dealer advised that they could not duplicate it and that the light was not on. Sure enough, it was out only to come back on about 300 miles later. Took it to a diagnostic center and the reading was for a faulty cat. Brought it to Subaru and they said it was just an exhaust leak and they fixed it. About 1 week later-again!!! Tried a different dealership and they also claimed they couldnt duplicate it and sure enough the light was out. Rear Wheel bearings started to make grinding noise at abt 33,000 miles. Plus the front rotors warped and had to be replaced. I was glad to turn in the car at lease end- with the check engine light on of course!
