I bought my kia in march 2000 for £4999
delivery mileage. A very compact reliable
car fot the money. MPG 50+ on long runs and 39-45 around town. The seat clothe plastic to tightly streched on the frame
so splits on the joints. Wheel bearings are the downfall, but apart from this what a cracking motor, pity they discontinued the pride.
The car top speed 85mph
The car is economical
I find seats comfortable.
Does anybody know the TARE MASS (EMPTY) and GROSS VEHICHLE MASS FULLY LOADED of the KIA PRIDE 1.3 SX 5 door (2000)? I bought mine in 2001 and never had any problems with it untill now when I want to keep it as a little runabout on the continent and need this info to export it, it seems as if I am searching for a needle in a haystack!
We have a 26000 miles 2000 Kia Pride, and it is making a droning sound which we suspect is a wheel bearing. Does anyone know anything about this, and also if there is a workshop manual available? I know Haynes don't do one. We would be glad of any advice.
Although you can't get a Haynes manual for the Kia Pride in the UK, you could probably source an Australian manual for the Mazda 121 / Ford Festiva. They're pretty much the same car. (just make sure it covers pre 1990 cars - they're the same shape as the Pride)

I have had a KIA PRIDE since DECEMBER 1999. I hope it lasts for ever.
No problems ever. Never seen an exhaust system with no rust for 150.000 kms.
The ONLY PROBLEM that I have had is that I changed the back wheel's bearings THREE TIMES (They sing with a special sound once in a while, giving you the time to reach the mechanic). I.E. (4X4's don't even dream to pass through where I have driven the poor thing.)
