Lower front starting to rust due to two minor collisions with a sign at a gasstation and a rabbit!
A few rustspots on the boot, but nothing serious.
Headlightbulb changed.
The car is comftable and easy to drive
the powersteering is good and the engine is smooth and responsive, but a bit "slow" under 3000Rpm.
It starts every time even during a icy cold winters day.
Its roomy too its as big as a stationcar and has plenty of space for all sorts of goods and the fabric and the plastic is in a good quality that even after 15 years of wear and tear still looks fine.
To keep this car running I use a thin oil and remembers to change the drive belt in good time because if you don't it can cause a wrecked engine.
And I forgot to tell you that its crusial that you make sure to give the car some antirust treatment preferrably by a antirust specialist, mine gets a treatment by one every second year and its fine.
You need to replace the Rear Strut Coil Springers to get rid of the noise entirely. I did not go as far, I simply Welded the tops of the Springer Assembly to the Strut Mount Bracketing. I like to stay cheap on my Vehicles. It has resulted in a higher back end, but I can live with that. I hope that helps.
Update: My car is going to a mechanic tomorrow because its making a whistling sound from the engine and I don't know what it can be?!
Any suggestions id be happy if you guys could make some suggestions.
One of the belts may be a bit loose?
If it's truly a whistling sound, it could be a leaking gasket or a loose vacuum hose. It may actually be sucking air. Did you notice any change in performance when you noticed the whistling? Does it idle rougher, or get suddenly worse gas mileage? Is it suddenly difficult to start? These things could all be signs of a vacuum leak. Any white steam coming out the exhaust? That would be a blown head gasket, in which case you should have noticed a substantial decrease in acceleration and performance.
Thanks for replying!
It was a loose servobelt (Powersteering) that was making the whistling sound, the mechanic said that it could be because it was treated with antirust in November and it could have greased the belt and made it a bit loose.
All in all the old girl just keeps running smooth as she allways does.
Tyres needed alignment and front brakes was worn down and was replaced, according to my dad (my parents used to own the car from 1995-2005) the car has had its frontbrakes changed only twice during the 10 years they had it for.
