Did you test drive one before you bought it.

I have a SV6 with a capa supercharger and has been sweet from the day dot I got it.

Faults like this don't show up til after you buy it. You would think that by now Holden could get it's act together and start building cars that don't disintegrate around you. I wonder if the guy with his "capa supercharger" was able to find any insurance. Somehow I doubt it.

Its insured with just cars and I am 35 years old.

No problems with insuring the car with a Capa supercharger.

I have had very few problems with my SV6 (fleet car). Previous Commodores have shown variable quality - VT being the worst in spite of much hype from the media about it being a huge step forward in build quality at the time. I think you have been rather unlucky, but this is not an excuse! As for superchargers and other mods - there are some of us who just want to buy a car and drive it without needing to spend extra to bring it up to standard! Yes, you can get insurance, but at what cost? I agree, the stereo doesn't sound great, but I don't think it's necessarily inferior to other cars at this price point. All said and done, if my boss allowed me I'd go for an XR6T.

If you want to know about disintigrating cars then the BA falcon is one of them. I am a taxi driver and I drive a BA XT LPG and it has to be the weakest Falcons I have ever come across. The EL and AU's I have driven and sometimes I drive and odd AU falcon taxi has less rattles and clucks and they seem to have more grunt in them. I get back in the BA and it feels like a 30 year old car.

I didn't just get a supercharger install to bring it up to "standards" I am planning on taking it on the track and legally drag race it at a few events. I want to see how far I can push the new V6. When the new V6 gets direct injection system (not diesel system) I might turbocharge it and see what I get from it. But by then I would have a 6L V8 and have a few turbocharges bolted on to it.

I agree with your comments. i also have an sv6 and have become reaquainted with oil leaks clunky diffs rattles constant visits to the dealership for warranty work. every body tells me holdens are the best car in the world.haven't seen much evidence of it yet. ill be buying a japanese car next.

Well I don't know why you would believe that holden is the best car maker in the world that is just ridiculous. The point is, they make relativley cheap, large, reliable (in my case anyway, VZ sv6) cars that soak up the open road kilometers with ease and tow my boat/caravan without a problem and are good on fuel (8.2L per 100 on the highway) I am very very happy with my Sv6 (that I traded my '02 BA Xr6 on) and wouldn't hesistate in getting another commodore. Luck Of the draw though I suppose.

I bought my SV6 about 12 months ago and love it. I had a VT before and was also happy with it.

The point of my post was to ask the guy with the supercharger if he had it installed by CAPA or did he do it himself.

I'm looking at getting the full kit (supercharger, inter-cooler, extractors). what sort of power are you getting now you have the supercharger.

Thanks.

Didn't say I believed any one about Holden being the best car in the world, I was being a smart ass. I don't believe it, never have, never will. I am simply disappointed with the car and the service from the dealers.

I get confused between all these comments. I was looking forward to getting a better result to take a decision to buy a Holden Commodore SV6 2006 or Honda Accord 2006.

I own a 04 vz sv6 manual, it has done 75,000 in this time the cd player has been replaced (not uncommon) the bonnet latch constantly needs adjusting, interior light module has been replaced 3 times, stereo switches on steering wheel don't work, have had the emission control modules replaced, gearbox is very hard to get into reverse and makes noise as you change gears, the interior is still as noisy as vt slight rattles in doors and the stitching on the interior leaves a lot to be desired...

I bough my 2004 SV6 when it had 28,000km on the clock in 2006. It is now has over 110,000km on it and I have never spent a cent on it other than servicing. I would recommend it to anyone.

I have had a 2005 sv6 for 2 years and am on my third drive shaft! It always makes a clunking sound at low speeds! Has anyone had a similar problem, and if so, do you know a cure?
