"Price is too much for it"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

I bought the new car with expecting getting a low quality car, but not a broken non working options, like air conditioner, gas fuel indicator, was not working and I got them replaced by service.

General comments?

The engine based on 3 cylinder,, sounds are noisy,, checking and vibration very strong, the car is big in size, but internal dashboard and seats doesn't fit well they are much bigger in size for this car,, so you got the feelings this car is big enough outside like 1990 charade,, but this end as soon as you get inside it,, spare parts are cheap and that's the only advantage, car is too slow it is a city car,, ride you to work and back in to home,, maximum speed is 130 km, but you still have everything under controll till 95 km speed, and don't think about it if you are a drug dealer and thinking to running from cops, other wise you will get busted easy..

I am from Egypt too.

How much did you pay for your car?

How much is the car's fuel consumption?

I am thinking of buying a QQ. I Think its quality will be better and should last longer, what do you think?

Yes the Chery QQ is way better

but try to get the NEW 1.1 Engine, not the 0.8 one.

Just to let you know, Geelys cars (the Haqing (fruittah in egypt), Sparky) are the older R&D models...

The only GEELY models worth looking at are the CK and the Maple.

I am from Egypt too btw, and I was thinking of buying a Geely CK 1.6L, but the New Fiat Palio (subcompact car) has arrived and a I prefer a Brazilian / Italian car over a chinese one :D.

I am the poster that inquired about the price of geely.

You are right, a fiat palio would be a safer buy. I visited the showroom new golden and saw the car, very good build quality, but they have only one year insurance so I was skeptic.

Really?

I've asked the dealer all kinds of question about the car!! but I forgot to ask about the Warranty as I thought its normal that it should be 3 years at least.

The best car warranty in our BELOVED :D country is the Protons! they get 5 years or 1,00,000 KM!!! which is wow.

But anyways if the Palio is only 1 year! to hell with it, the Maple and CK are the same price, a lot more features tho less build quality, but they have a 3 years or 50,000 km warranty!

Skeptic? I would be more than that!

Hi all,

Well... Looks like many people are in the same boat:)

I think about the Palio and the CK-1. The Palio sounds good, but 1 year... mmmm I keep wondering!! The CK-1 looks very good to me, even the finishing. Yet, selling much better than the Palio... I've seen it many times, but did not notice the Palio in the street.

Any ideas!! Is CK-1 motor, body, options working... bla bla bla... people say it is disposable: (

Actually, geely has a reputation of putting price over quality. most geely cars I saw were terrible quality. but actually the ck-1 and the maple are not bad, yet I wouldn't buy them. for this price buy a chery A11. it is of much better quality and with many options.

Also the palio is good choice.

About the I year warranty, it is very low compared to other cars. but I have to say that a friend of mine has a petra for two years now with no problems. so I guess it is not really that big a deal.

Chery has 3 years 60,000 km warranty :)

Well there's a lot in the same boat indeed :D.

Anyways after almost 12 months of looking/searching and studying.

The 60 to 70 Price range in egypt is filled with Crappy cars, either compiled in egypt, or discontinued foreign products or chineese cars...

Let me list them :

- Hyundai Verna (compiled in egypt) and I hate it

- Daewoo Lanos SE (Hello? it stopped outside since 99)

- Chery A-11 (The only chineese car I respect)

- Geely CK-1 (well, a dressed up lanos with good features and horrible proportions) I used to like it.

- Geely Maple (Citroen xsara COPY from the inside) Also I think its the best in terms of quality from Geely.

- Fiat Palio (well its the best CHOICE among these) but its not avialable right now and only 1 year warranty and comes with no cassette!!

- Proton Wira (Discontinued in Malysia since 2005)

For me I think it's a Fiat Palio vs Chery A11.

The chery is very well featured for its price besides it rides on a seat toledo chasis and has a nice warranty.

Anyone got any info please contact me on msn.

How about the Fiat Uno, I saw it at Masria showroom for 54000. It is not that different from the old Uno, but with a better engine (1300cc) also it comes with Air condition, Cassette and electric windows.

I have a budget for up to 65000 and I am also confused as to which car to buy. I saw the A11 and liked the build quality, but I am not sure about it's durability and also the running cost especially the spare parts and how available it is in the market? Could any one advise me please. Choosing a car within 60000 - 70000 price bracket can be very tricky. I look forward your suggestions...

I have Chery A11 in Egypt, and I have written a comment about it on this site you can read it, about running cost it is very cheap and economical, something like Hyundai Verna. but Chery is not very stable at high speeds, but for its price it is good car.

If you can increase your budget to 75 thousands, I strongly recommend the new Daihatsu Sirion!

Has anyone thought of the BYD F3, I honestly think it's the best in its price range, yet I'd like an owner's opinion, there's also the Speranza A516, I like it a lot, yet the stupid booking system and all that makes it extremely hard to get, but it's sold outside on the black market from 68,000 till 75,000, evil greedy merchants...

I've been using geely for almost 2 years now, no hard problem with it, but now what matters to me most is the genuine spare parts availability,

without it any nice car will be useless.

Sometimes Geely spare parts ae out of stock, if they dont fix this issue the car will be useless. But even indian cars with available spare parts are better than german ones with no after sales service. Got my idea?

Hi, I'm also interested in the BYD f3, but the issue of the availability of spare parts worries me. The car is new in the market and of course the spare parts are available, but what will be the case after 4 or 5 years. Another thing is the car stability on the road. The Mitsubishi engine is used in the car and in the specs they say that the max speed is 185 km/h (http://www.bydauto.com.cn/) and that's fine, but is it stable or not, and what about the options in it, is it functional properly or not?
