Check engine light goes on and off.
Had a tune up, spark plugs replaced, air filter replaced, distributor cap, fuel filter, pvc valve, and wires replaced The car still idles and runs like crap.
Extreamly sluggish acceleration. The car cuts of sometimes when you shift gears. The rpm meter gets stuck at times. Sunroof visor poped out. Girlfriend broke my door handle in the cold. Car won't go over 65 mph!!! Had struts replaced and it still a uncomfortable ride. Hard to see behind me. Overall this car sucks and I wish I didn't buy it. Ac lights go on and off.
The only thing it has going is its looks. Very sporty. Paint job is supurb. Gets a lot of looks. Sound system is good.
I think that you purchased somebody elses problems. I've had mine for 2 years, put 40,000km on it and maybe $300 of work into, including oil. It now has 290,000km on it, and the front transmission seal is starting to leak. To fix it, I am continuing to add fluid.
I also think that people are driving their cars too hard. I mean cars aren't meant to be driven into the ground, they're meant to get you to point a and point b... I want to buy this car... and now I'm terrified. But eight year old cars are going to have their share of trouble. Don't expect it to not break...
I purchased my car in 2003 from my grandparents who purchased it in 1995. There were absolutely no problems for the first 14 years that this car has been running. It was always taken care of, and regular oil changes and what not. I don't believe you car was taken care of.
