I wish I could agree with you brother! I own a red 2001 Taurus SES and that car is a "Piece Of Crap!" can't list all the problems I've occurred with it, besides the rusting doors and the most agravating thing- slow acceleration with the cheesy 145 hp "gas eating" vulcan v6 to the crummy squared interior design probably inspired by the early 80' taurus' LOL. I've owned a silver 1996 Taurus LX proir to this one and I liked that design better (96-99) it had a sportier interior, dashboard and exterior, faster in acceleration. not to mention better built no rust anywhere for being a 10 yr old car compared to this 5 yr old one I own now- guess Ford lost quality on being hip and cool along with performance with the taurus since the redesign of the 2000-up generation LOL just my opinion I guess!.
