This car is the biggest piece of crap I have ever owned. The motor mount breaks while I am driving it, I fix it and the stupid thing still clunks.
Never ever get a Shadow before the year of 1990. If you do I hope you have a walletful of money. What a waste!
That's funny, I own a 88 Reliant K with a 2.2 (very similar to the 2.5 in most aspects) in it and haven't had any major problems with it. Of course I do my routine maintenence with an unequaled fever pitch. Sounds like you made a bad purchase on a badly abused car.
I current have an '88 Shadow which I bought for $950. Just recently the transmission went and I've had to replace many different parts. Once this is over however, it should run better.
