Front pads and disc brakes replaced with rally types. No gripping power with the original brakes.
Clutch replaced at 115,000km.
Vacuum pump replaced because the car died while idling.
Distributor cap replaced due to wear & tear.
Back brakes replaced due wear & tear.
Exhaust replaced due to corrosion.
Water jacket replaced due to corrosion. This inherently introduced new overheating problems which I don't know where else to check.
Transmission/gear stick difficult to engage from 1st to 2nd even after the clutch replacement.
Replaced the petrol pump and filter (ageing).
Parts are extremely expensive.
Springs and shock absorbers replaced, because the ride was very hard.
Very simple car to use.
Easy to modify.
Could use more standadised bolts and nuts instead of allen keys (imperial stanard).
Fuel consumption is average, but starting to increase.
Ride is surprisingly quite comfy for a 1.0 litre car.
For this price, one shouldn't complain, if not for the problems all happening at the same time.
Parts expensive in singapore? You must be kidding, if you get it through workshops for the parts then you must have been cheated, Uno parts which I normally get them myself from the spare parts shops are cheap than you ever think.
Try to get your UNO parts at Tanly (waterloo street) or e at Polymotor (bendemeer rd).I have ridden my UNO for 150,000km w/o any serious problem. Maybe you will require a spare Ignition Module (~$45-) if you have starting problems. My car gives me like 16 to 18 Km/litre using 98R petrol. Pls change your engine oil to Syn type and it will be better if you also change transmission oil to Mobiluble Syn transmission oil (grade 75-90).It helps me to shift from 1st and 2 nd gear smoothly.
Can I inquire what exact type of engine oil do you use for your Uno? I have been using the HPX (Selenia) from Polymotor. But they do not bring it in anymore. Thanks.
LOL. Parts extremely expensive? It's the car with cheapest parts in the market.
