"A good toy for the money"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

The usual stuff, others have mentioned. The seat levers broke within months of buying, I replaced them with vise grips, that seems to work very well.

The rear door handle broke, I fixed that myself.

Alternator went out about a year after I got it, that was kind of expected though, since it just hit 50,000 miles at the time.

Battery replaced.

Serpentine belt, but I consider those maintenance.

The driver-side door recently came loose.

And the oil cooling line sprung a wicked leak. It was kind of an expensive fix, but I found a preventive measure for it.

Paint on the edge of the bed is chipping.

Brakes need more consistent replacing than my last car.

General comments?

Overall, this is a good truck, it has a lot less maintenance and repair issues than my last car, although it really isn't as tough.

The interior is great, no wear or sun damage or anything like that. The back of the cab is surprisingly roomy.

I replaced the factory tires with Firestone Dueler AT's, and that seemed to improve winter driving, and wet weather driving very well.

The engine behaves very well, I have never had any issues with it.

Best of all, it's a great off road driver, and very fun.

Good overall truck. 230K miles without any significant engine problems, but the cooling system and transmission is another story. This truck is on its third tranny. Intake manifold gasket, radiator, ball joints, 2 fuel pumps, 3 altenators and water pump have all been replaced. Can be very costly repairs when you least expect. Trying to get 300K out of it. Truck has 4.3L Vortec, automatic trans, ZR2 suspension package and extended cab. One last thing, excellent for off-roading and winter driving.
