"An affordable small MPV"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Nothing wrong with the car, only the cabin is quite small.

General comments?

This small MPV was launched to tap to the lower-end of the market. With this in our mind, we have to have a basic understanding that we could not expect too much from this car especially in terms of power and comfort.

The car is OK for an small extended family as it can accommodate a maximum of seven persons. However, with its small engine (1.3 L) and relatively small cabin, one should not expect that it can provide power and a comfortable space for passengers.

Fuel consumption is quite moderate. I tested the car for both intercity and inner-city driving. The results were not dissapointing as it only consumes 1L of petrol for 11kms (inner-city) and 13kms (intercity).

Probably the most spacious small MPV ever. Third row OK for me (5'8") so long as not long distance (seat back too upright). Small boot with third row up. Outstanding turning circle. Sprightly performance from 1.3, doesn't feel under-powered at all. Crap stereo. Excellent value for money nevertheless. Good town run-about. Soft, but bumpy ride though. Horrendous on the highways - very poor directional stability, highly prone to cross-winds (watch out when you overtake a truck, it'll will move much, much more than a normal sedan). Poor suspension with lots of pitching (front to back rocking) on the highways which affects stability and ensures you need both hands on the steering wheel which has zero feel (and this doesn't help). Hence it all means long-distance driving requires far more concentration than most cars. Makes it all a bit tiresome. Excellent reliability though. OK if mostly town use with occasional long-distance use.

I have a toyota avanza 1.3 (auto). I bought it for RM 63,500. It is very comfortable and nice. I like it very much.
