Air flow sensor went out at 117,000, at the time, it was over $700.00 for a new one.
I bought this from a drug-dealer on the run for $200.00, with less than 70,000 miles. Outran the cops twice, (I was drunk!), hell of a car!
They didn't make the 280ZX in '77 boss.
There was in 1977, a Datsun 280Zx. I have one in my garage. The one I have is the California special edition. The CA Department Motor Vehicles will assure you a 1977 edition was produced. Or am I paying fees for a ghost?
Next time the mass air sensor goes out, simply give it a good lashing of brake cleaner. It always gets me by for a while, at least until I can sell it on to some unsuspecting soul.
Paying fees? It was only $200! I had a 1982 white 280zx 2+2 that I purchased for $8200.00 in 1986. The biggest advantage of the 2+2 was the insurance was half if I had a 2 seater. I also owned a 75 Corvette at the same time and its insurance was less at the time even with the Datsun being a 2+2. Areas to watch are rust and the ac otherwise they are pretty trouble free.
