Run smoothly until 10,000 km, then problems happened all the time.
Power steering were broken down, need to replace the seals and pump.
Brake system was broken, need to replace pads, discs and other small components.
Engine was overheating as the radiator was blown up. Need to replace water pump and other components.
Air conditioning system was very bad.
Engine power was very powerless.
Fuel consumption was quite high.
This car was definitely a junk car. No one should buy this as it will give a lot of problems to the owner.
Its sold in Indonesia, so of course its junk. In fact I've seen very few good reviews of any cars in countries like Malayasia and Indonesia, except for land rovers and toyotas.
I have been driving the Carens II for the past two years. Yes, oil consumption is high, but the car, or shall I say mini MPV is superb. The 1.8 engine gives me enough power to beat other cars on the road. And many a time I have forgotten that I am driving an MPV because the car feels like a sedan. Space is wide enough and my three little kids enjoy every ride. I am sorry for the other owners who have problems with this vehicle. My only complaint is the paint work which is extremely thin and gets scratched easily. And by the way, not all foreign cars sold in Malaysia are of poor quality.
I've been using this car for several months, because I need more space for my business and I don't like to bring 2 cars for taking only 7 persons (our family cars were both sedan). I must say, the car is superb. Compared to my previous Hyundai Accent, and even compared to my father's Honda City, this car is above all those. The cabin space, the comfortability, interior quality, and so many other things. Oil consumption is still OK for me.
