General comments?

A Beautiful car, stylish, heaps of power, great brakes (Performance brake package - not upgraded to Premium), and the suspension package is unmatched. soooooo much fun to drive.

Disappointed and frustrated in all the problems for such a young car.

Many small niggling faults, not enough to stop the car running, but enough to get one annoyed.

Overall all the options are very usable, comfortable on long trips.

Good fuel economy on highway 10lt/100, city driving between 14 & 18lt/100.

Interior is laid out well. Cruise is easy to use, lights and mirrors on sun visors are a nice touch. Seats are racing body hugging, susceptible to wear if not cared for.

Head turner. Stylish car.

Base build quality is not comparable to imported cars of same price range

Hi.

You sound like a pommie!

I have a VX II R8 they are simply awesome.

The drive, the comfort, the prestige of the vehicle make it a truly spectacular car...

He's not a pommie mate, neither am I.

I'm becoming disgruntled with my VXII HSV. All of the above problems are common to what I've experienced, including the need to replace the fuel pump, condensation in the indicator panels, the aerial will no longer retract, and the huge camber squat problems have ruined those poxy super soft tyres that were delivered with the car.

Yes, it a 2002 model so problems are to be expected, but this car has only just cracked 40,000kms. It's not driven harshly and quite frankly its becoming increasingly obvious that my $70k would have been better spent on something else. I'm a dyed-in-wool Holden man, but the constant problems and niggles that I've experienced from a car that is part of the Holden prestige range is simply unforgivable, and it hurts me to say that the next car I purchase probably won't be a Holden.

Hey,

I own a vx r8 clubby and I have had very littlen problems. you listed all those problems you had well if you thrash a car like things like that will happen. I am 21 and don't need to thrash it maybe you should respect it a bit more andf it will serve you well. I am buy 1 again any day of the week.

I don't know if any of you holden fans can even read let alone understand what the review was all about. If you read the review properly youll see that the problems encountered with the reviewer had little to do with the car being thrashed. eg steering wheel losing its leather seat base broken. Remove the holden chip off your shoulder and read the review properly. If youre having a good run out of your car great no one denies this. AND At least winging poms get the problem fixed MAYBE IF US AUSSIES WINGED WE WOULD GET BETTER PRODUCTS TOO.

I'm not a pom either, but I'm am becomong increasingly disgruntled with my vx clusport as well.I'm neither here or there on the holden ford debate so don't start accusing me of a ford sabotage either. My car has been a ongoing problem from day one and I too are beginning to think my money would have been better spent elsewhere as well. Constant oil seepage, eats tyres interior trim disentergrating, all sorts of clunking and knocking from the suspension and diff areas. I am 42 years old and don't thrash my car, my wife drives a 10 year old magna that has had the hell beaten out of it and it still hasn't got a rattle in it. I think holden is just trading on its name.

I wrote the original review and for those skeptics who may wish to read the review again, they will notice that I have balanced the good with the not so good. I would now like to add that I have had the opportunity to replace the vehicle and have chosen not to do so. Why? Not because I really wanted to:

1) Replace the radiator a second time

2) Buy a new gear shifter,

3) Buy a new window control switch

4) Spend money on a leaky AC condenser

5) Because I enjoy the rattle in the passenger side front door when the window is right to the top.

But because it is still a stylish fun car to drive...

Yes I am a perfectionist and choose to repair the things that don't keep working, only so it can never be said the problems are of my own doing.

PS. I am a family man and do not thrash my car,=; the only thrashing the car gets is with a polishing rag... every weekend.
