"What more do you want from a 1.4 engine car?"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Yesterday the airbag light kept on flashing when I was driving, but it only happened for about 10 minutes. Good job I got a warranty cause they can sort it out if it happens again.

General comments?

Very surprised by the performance, it DOES do 0-60 in about 10 secs, less than 11 anyway. My mate's got a Golf GTi 1.8i and it keeps with that 0-60.

The body kit is the same as the VTS so all you need to do is add a set of alloys and you've got yourself a beauty, looks the part.

The ride isn't amazingly smooth, but it is a small car. Buy one... NOW!

Flashing airbag light means the wire under the seat is broken and loose.

This car is indeed not bad for a 1.4. On the motorway I've got up to 120mph (which is the speedo limit), that's with no modifications to the engine and my missus sat next to me going ape.

The car is great, I would reckon most young drivers would be able to buy one especially with the deals they are giving away.

I got a new one, the window wiper motor went in the first week but all was OK (they fixed it but gave me a Skoda for 3 days).

It's a great buy and bags of fun, it's very near the VTR (mines badged up as one, no one can tell), but get the Poseiden Blue with Ricochet interior.

Anyway, good luck Saxo fans & keep up the good work Citroen.

Anybody with the slightest gumption will be able to tell that you are not in a VTR. A) because of the savage interior that you have and B) because you have rear brake drums not disks.

I think only people who really know what they are on about and know Citroen cars would be able to tell the difference. So what about VTR drivers, just VTS wannabe's! I think so.

Look guys, the Furio 1.4i is a fine ride and quite nippy for its engine size, but I did get bored with it after a few months. I made the mistake of doing a cheapie and so moved up to a VTS when I realised I had no chance against my friend's VR6. I still don't have much chance, but hey his car cost £7000 more - what'd you expect! Don't be cheap, get the real thing - it's sooooo much better!

Hi. I just wanted to know if you think it's a good idea for me to have a Saxo Furio as a first car. I put a deposit on it yesterday, but after reading these comments it's changing my mind. Please get back to me, as I haven't the slightest clue about cars. E-mail me if possible Welsh_Female@hotmail.com

Thank You.

Yeah go for it. The Furio is an amazing car, I was £500 short a few months ago and had to go for the pre-face lifted Saxo 1.4 West Coast with the naff interior, otherwise the same car as the later Furio. It has VTR badges, wheels and rear spoiler and I'm on the lookout for VSX/VTR/VTS door trims and seats at the right price. Regarding that guy's request for VTR badges- you can find them cheaply on ebay, however a lot of pauper Saxo owners have the same idea as you and bids usually amount to about £13 just for a set of door badges. Funny how VTS owners don't swap their badges for "East Coast" isn't it?

I've had my Furio a few months now and its the best car I've ever driven. Very nippy for a 1.4 and very cheap on insurance (a group lower than the VTR)... its great so far, would highly recommend it, especially as a first car!!!

I've had my Citroen Saxo Furio 1.4i 51 reg for 8 months now and its been a great first car for me. I am 18 so the insurance group has to be low, the furio is group 5 insurance which is quite low considering it's a 1.4i engine. I would recommend it to any young driver for their first or second car. I mean it looks good and its quite nippy, what more do you want for a first car?

I will write again if I have any problems with the car.

I've had my Furio for about 3 months. Its absoulety great for a first car. Let my dad have a test drive and he loves it, thinks its like drivin a go-kart the way you can sling it round corners. Drivers air bag light came on for about a week, but took it for a service and it was fixed. Unfortunately I recently crashed it on a motorway. Hit the back of a new Ford Mondeo. My Saxo crumpled with no damage to the car in front. The air bag didn't go off??? but suppose it was a good thing as neither me or passenger were hurt in any way. Was told by the garage that they are meant to react that way in an accident like this and the likey cause of the airbag not going off was that there was no damage to the front bumper (Not sure about that one). So new bonnet, lights, radiator, wings and I will be away again.
