"I love the body style, but, I'm not sure of the preformance at this time"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Rebuilt motor has no oil pressure.

General comments?

I have a 1990 Isuzu Trooper, 2.6 manual transmission. I recently purchased this vehicle at a great price. The problem with the vehicle was the engine was knocking. After purchasing the vehicle I pulled the engine and did a re-ring job, replacing the crankshaft all the bearings, rings all the gaskets, oil pump, belts, hoses, head and so on. After reinstalling the engine I started it up and the vehicle had no oil pressure. I rechecked everything, thinking that I had installed the main bearings incorrectly. After inspecting the complete rebuild job I am still not able to figure out why I cannot get any oil pressure. Has anyone seen this problem, or could you offer any advice.

You should start by checking your oil gauge, the oil pressure sending unit, and then check your oil pump. Your problem must be one of the three.

Bought my Trooper three years ago with 80K miles on it. Since then only oil changes necessary. Lots of room, extremely reliable, decent gas mileage and enough torque to pull a trailer with my Harley on it with no problem. These are the best 4x4 SUV deals you can get. Low price and high return. I've got 160K on it now and will buy another one if something happens to this one. Not only are they tough but also simple to work on if needed.
