"Pure American muscle!"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Nothing but general stuff - battery & electricals.

General comments?

425 hp, 2-4 barrels, runs great & mean.

My neighbor has an all-original 1969 Boss 429 he bought in 1972 for $3000 (sick, huh?), and he still owns that car today. These cars are incredible.

Motorcraft lowered the shock towers to fit that huge engine (looks like a Hemi) under the hood and have the battery mounted in the trunk (from the factory).

60 series tires, mag rims again from the factory, beefy sway bars, manual tranny, BRUTALLY FAST.

Is yours a Boss 429 or a 427 Cobra Jet?

I want a Mustang but I'm only 17 and I live in the UK so bang goes that dream.

I'd specifically like either a GT500, Boss or a Mach as they are the most mean beasts the world has seen. I hate the UK (except for football!) petrol is 85p per litre and insurance for a 1.8 Escort costs me £2500 per year (about $5500!) Imagine what a mustang would cost! Have fun with your stangs you lucky $@&%

Yeah... American Muscles kicks the crap out of Ferrari etc... Especially the Dodge Challenger with Six-pack Shaker and 440 Magnum. :)

Here in Finland is a 73' Mustang Mach 1 with Ford Ranchero 472cid engine and NASCAR Top Loader. 564 horsepower... That kind of car would be cool...

There is no such thing as a 67' Boss!! The only big block available in a Mustang in 67' was a 396ci! The Boss came in 69' and it was a 302ci. in 1970. There were 563 Boss 429's made by Kar Kraft for Ford. The 427 was never called a "Boss". 428ci Mach 1's and 429ci Mach 1's were called Cobra-Jets. Most "Boss" Mustangs are of the 302 or 351 variety. The rarest being the 1970 302 Boss road racers that dominated the Trans-Am series driven by Parnelli Jones. The 429 Boss's were made to legalize the motor for NASCAR. Ford had to "shoe-horn" 500 motors into a product to made the motor legal on the high-banks of Daytona!

Ford has never offered the 396ci engine you have a lot of info about the mustangs, but records at ford motor company indicate there was only 1 427ci mustang and carrol shelby built a 1968 Shelby GT 500 kr and it is in Daytona FL. now. The 427ci was in a veriety of fords and mercurys oh yea and the 396ci is a GM engine I'm sure this was only a mistake on your part in 67 mustangs the 390ci was the largest engine offered. The 428ci,427ci were introduced to the mustang line in 1968 considered the first year of the muscle car. I own a 68 fastback bullet with a 390ci GT engine 4-speed 325 gear have owened since 1970. I paid 1,695 dollars for it. The car has 76,000 miles on it now I have reserched mustangs and other late 60's ford\mercury extensivly.

Please help!!!I have a 1969 Mustang Fastback, with a T engine code, I recently bought a 429 (this engine came out of a 1969 Thunderbird) and would like to put this engine in this car. I am having trouble finding motor mounts, and many people are saying that this engine will not fit into this car. I do know that several modifications were made for the Boss 429 to fit into mustangs, but this 429 is not a Boss. Will it fit? If so where could I get motor mounts?

I don't think the 429 will fit into your '69; the '70 boss '9 had to be modified to fit the 429 in there. You'd probably have to bang on the shock towers a bit and maybe cut them up (never really a good idea...). If perchance it does fit, you might try some Boss '9 mounts as well as the '71 Mustang mounts for the 429.

I have a 460 big block that I'm trying to shoehorn into a 1967 coup. I understand that I need to modify the shock towers. Does anyone have instructions on doing so? I'm in deseprate need of some input.
