Engine light came on. Sensor replaced.
Surprised, well made, handles well, but not as well as my '86 Prelude, just different. After 17 years in Prelude had to get used to different interior - good layout, seats, roomier and better equipped than my wife Protege. Odd A/C controls. Bit sluggish at low RPM, excellent at high, quick. Not a fan of power steering, in this case works well. Wanted SRT-4 but was not available at the time and Prelude fell apart.
My girlfriend has a 2003 Dodge SX 2.0 now at 30,000km the engine light is on. I checked and a code PO441 (evaporative emission control system incorrect purge flow) was indicated.
The dealer wants to charge $99.95 just to plug the car to the diagnostics computer now that the car is only 3 months out of warranty.
Do you know what sensor was replaced? I'm just curious if this maybe a common problem.
I have a 2003 Dodge sx 2.0. My engine light has come on, and I had a friend diagnose the problem: Evaporation Emission sensor or whatever it is called. I'm curious to know if anyone knows what the cost of repair or replacement might be?
Honestly the problem you are having is very common on a lot of North American vehicles, this mainly happens on fords, there is no real problem at all its just you gas emission light is on meaning that you sensor is messed up. I fixed it on my vehicle it ended up costing me 800 cdn and the light came back on within 4 months. So I would not bother with the hastle or the waste of money. Just hope the light bulb burns out, until next time look both ways before crossing the street.
