"It is the best small truck I’ve ever owned"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Well the truck had sat for quit a few years when I got it. I had to replace the gas tank (due to rust from sitting for so long), front brakes (also due to rust), a few fuel lines (rust again, oh I forgot to mention that it has been a Minnesota truck it's whole life) and just for performance it got new air filter, plugs and wires and new exhaust. It also got some new tires.

General comments?

I can't say a signal bad thing about the truck, it has awesome power for being a 2.0L and doesn't really seem to car how hard I am on it, the stupid thing just doesn't know when to quit. It can haul almost as much as my 1989 Ford F-150, with a V8! Its very cozy with the little bench seat and has a lot of legroom (I should know I am 6'4") I’ve already taken it on a few road trips with the 4 wheeler and it has yet to leave me stranded. All in all a great machine. I would recommend this truck to anyone who needs a little run around truck.

This truck is the best truck you will ever own! I have just acquired mine form my dad, and he bought it new in '87. It has 189K on it with the origonal transmission, engine, rear end, and just about everything else. Just keep the shocks changed, and everything will be alright.

Just some general maintinance stuff, the are 2 fuel filters on this vehicle, one under the hood and one in the tank. Keep a check on those to keep gas costs down. Keep the oil changed; this truck hates dirty oil. Also, check the valve cover gaskt often, it tends to do some leaking. Make sure you change the trans fluid and the rear diff fluid every year, use GL-5 for both of those.

This truck is also good for custom work. I have put a lot of money into mine in order to get it looking and sounding nice. You can get all sorts of chrome accessories from online dealers, as well as a bunch of fun lighting stuff. This truck's electrical system will not fry if you put a little stress on it. For example: on my B2000, I have under-car lighting, strobes, 3 sets of fog lights, neon floor lights, a Dual CD player and a pair of Sony 12s. All of this stuff runs at the same time on a stock battery, with no problem whatsoever. It is a fun truck to play with, but be prepared for minor frustration.

As always, be safe and have fun with your Mazda!!! It will last forever!

Loved my Mazda B2000 Long-bed black pickup with grey interior. Looked sharp and was so comfortable. Ran like a charm. One of the best items I ever bought.
