"High powered sedan"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Spare parts are expensive and difficult to find.

Seats are stiff and rigid. Quality of interior and dashboard are not the best one.

Changed the radiator fan, brake pads, engine oil and air filters, and wheel boots.

Never gave any significant troubles.

General comments?

This is my first Mitsubishi car I have. I bought it from a close friend, so I knew all the things about this car.

What I like from this car is its power and speed. The model is also good and attractive.

The dealer is very supportive, however sometimes difficult to find the spare parts. I need to wait for a couple of days.

Nice cars lancer's, it say at the bottom its the 1.6, high powered? What power does this engine produce? And does it still have 4WD like the standard GL impreza's?

High power from a 1.6 litre engine?

Now that is funny.

I am from Kenya - Africa; my Mitsubishi Lancer is a year 2000 model and I acquired it in 2002 when it had done 23,000 kilometres. It was the second Lancer I have owned - the first one having been a 1993 model which has been relatively criticized in this website. However, for Kenyan conditions the car did so well. The 2000 model had even done better because I only change the brake pads, oil, fuel filter, timing belt and spark plugs after 15,000 kilometres. It is really fast and I cruise past other more powerful SUVs with ease. Though it feels lighter compared to other German brands, the fuel efficiency surpasses all the shortcomings. The parts are a bit expensive and not as readily available in my country as compared to those of the Toyota Corolla which is also popular in Kenya; but they are longer lasting.

I would still buy a Lancer if I got more cash especially the evolution VIII which I am looking forward to acquire. In Africa we don't do high speeds of 140 kilometres per hour, but the Lancer can rush to that if you want to take the risk. If you know the the hilly terrain of the Rift Valley, and the escarpments of the great Mt. Kilimanjaro and Mt. Kenya, then you would appreciate more why the Lancer is increasing becoming common car on the Kenyan roads. It tackles those hills on fifth gear with ease and with some 250 load in the luggage. Try Africa for the Lancer. And by the way my Lancer is 1468 cc. You can contact me on Kenyan cell phone number - (254) 733 983570. I love the Lancer.
