"For the price this can't be beat, if you have the money - go Honda or Toyota"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Carpets increasingly difficult to clean

rear shocks replaced at 100000 (van used to tow tent trailer that exceeds towing rating of vehicle).

Head gasket at 86000 - under warranty.

General comments?

We use this van to tow our tent trailer - and the trailer exceeds towing capacity by 1000 pounds. We go through the mountains; about 500 Km (300 miles) per day We did install a transmission cooler as the transmission is apparently weak on this vehicle. NO problems, the van does extremely well.

Fit and finish is better than GM, or Ford (we have their vans at work - yikes talk about problem vehicles), but not as nice as Honda and Toyota; on par with Mazda or Kia. We drive with the rear windows open all the time and have no problems with exhaust coming in.

Our 'reliability' experience has be great. There have been a few recall items - always handled quickly and well by the dealer. To be fair, this was more common that our Nissan (never recalled) or the Hyundai before (dealer never recalls - all secret warranty).

Our plan is to buy another one.

Buy something a little heavier duty and you don't have to worry about worn suspension or engine/tranny parts. Plus when towing over the rating the engine is stressed and gets worse mpg. Time to move up.
