Very little in the time I had it. usual wear and tear items. A stone cracked one of the headlight lenses, I hadnt realised how uncommon the 90 is in the uk, replacement proved very dificult and the a80 is different.
I planned to keep this car indefinately as I loved it! unfortunately the big ends went, the oil pick up was blocked. (not guilty-I change oil every 3000) that was the end of it. I had neither the time or money or space to muck about swapping engines. no mechanical problems and the electrics all worked fine, great considering it was 17 yrs old when I had it.
I find anything with the audi 5 pot to be a highly addictive machine- all that low down torque and the wonderful rumbling burbling engine note.
A comfortable cruiser that excels on the motorway. it really felt a bit wallowy for my liking, but it may just have needed new shox. performance for the class of car was staggering, no one regards these as a performance car as they look so similar to the more common audi 80, but the 5 cylinder injection engine is a cracker, a shame mine didn't last as I have seen over 300,000 miles from these engines. I want another, but its proving a hard search for anything that's not a total dog.
Hi I've just agreed a price for an AUDI 90 I have driven it on on a few occasions while my Ranger has been serviced, and loved it each time. I have been trying to get my friend to part with it for ages and to night he said yes. So very soon I can say I am the proud Owner of my Audi 90. so let the enjoyment begin as I know very litle about about it... except. I've driven it and I like it... A lot. Clive.. will post soon after delivery.
I hope you enjoy your 90. mine's misbehaving at the moment, it won't idle properly.
