The main thing that goes wrong with my car is the fuel injection becoming dirty which makes the car stutter.
The serpentine belt comes loose every now and then.
On my Tbird I had dual exhausts put on, then I added lakepipes (or sidepipes).
I put an Pontiac Sunfire spoiler on it which really has the perfect dimensions for the trunk.
I also had a 1970 Charger sport hoodscoop put on the car (not the sixpack).
I also painted the car with an emerald green with forest green ghost flames.
My turbo has been acting weird. I will start my car and the rpms go way up to 2500 and then drop way down and then my car dies. There were two vacuum hoses loose and now it doesn't do it. Any suggestion on way they popped off or how to prevent it?
If so e-mail me at Idapimp44@yahoo.com
Thank you so much
BJ.
I am looking at a 1986 Thunderbird with only 40,000 miles one it. It's a 3.8 V6 and looks to be in pretty good condition. My question is, does anyone know of any persistent/known problems with that year in general? The only thing that bothered me was that it seemed to have a slight problem with the fuel injector. The car sputtered from idle when I hit the gas just a bit when I test drove it.
thanks, mike.

The big issue with this car is the 3.8L motor is really only good for 80K miles before it needs servicing, based upon the two I have owned in the past. the 87 and 88 MY seem to be improved.
