Instrument cluster was subject to some kind of factory recall, although mine never gave any problems.
The Sahara is the most luxurious model in the Landcruiser range. It is similar to the Tundra, but has a station-wagon body instead of a pick-up.
I chose it over a Range-Rover (at twice the Sahara price) because the build and finish quality is flawless.
Everything works perfectly, although I must admit that I never use some of the electronic features, despite them being supplied as standard.
This is the ultimate towing car for anyone with a horse-trailer and it will cross 4-ft creeks with no worries at all.
Sometimes, I would like more control over revs when using Low-range 4x4,
as it struggles to grip with road tires
in muddy-going.
Notice that the writer owned a Ford Explorer earlier. I presume it was a 4L V6. Would be interested to know how fuel economy compares. I currently own a Ford Explorer and plan to probably upgrade to something like a Land Cruiser. Fuel consumption would therefore be a prime area of research.
