"A sophisticated, enthusiast's dream"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

CV boots - repaired under extended warranty.

General comments?

Drop dead gorgeous styling, near perfect ergonomics, superb handling, and the most wonderful V6 going. This engine is a soulful, rev-happy sweetheart that pulls to its 7000 rpm redline (and beyond) so willingly it's hard to keep the revs down. It's as smooth at high rpms as any I've driven and has reserves of power at the top that are surprising.

Its reliability is the best I've experienced in any car.

Because of its inherent goodness I've begun a series of major modifications that should at least double the horsepower and give it handling to match. I plan on keeping the car indefinitely.

There is no way you will be able to double the horsepower in the mx6. Even a supercharger or turbo will only put out about 90 additional HP. Your car has 164 stock... it will never be able to make 328hp.

Klze swap + forged interne + turbo + injector + fuel pump + CAI + exhaust 3" + boost controler + some other think and you'll have the double of power :D.

There are 300+ hp KL03's out there. I happen to own one, if you frequent mx6.com or probetalk. com (probes share our platform) you will learn what it takes to create one. You will have to go the forced induction route with all new internals tho, its more money than its worth, in the end you are still stuck with FWD and very little reliability, save your money and buy a new car more suitable for high hp mods.

There is a 2nd gen probegt in kentucky right now that's dyno'd at 291 WHEEL horsepower... that's more than double stock..
