Transmission went out about six years ago, with about 200,000 miles.

Still with the problems listed above, I believe this is a great truck, from my experience (not to offend any one) chevy trucks have perform and last longer than ford, I know this by experience because my dad is a great fan of ford, but always has something to fix on his trucks. I was told by the person who sold it to me that he used it for towing since it was new. Ever since I bought it I at least use it for towing twice a week with about 3 tons. By now it pretty much has about 230,000 miles, but still runs very good. I really appreciate what my stock 454hp does on that truck specially when I take off quick and leave many cars behind. It is getting old and it's time for me to buy A new pick up and are truly looking for another Chevy.
454 cubic inches. Not horsepower.
My dad had a truck like yours and it was always getting repaired. When I first drove it, it felt kinda weak for a 454, but it was a good heavy duty truck though.
I myself am a Ford guy. I have a 94 with an inline 6 that has 388,000 miles, and it's still towing and doing all the work a pickup should do.
