"One tough little car"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

New clutch and cv axles recently

head gasket at 65000.

General comments?

Amazing car. bought it new and it still runs like a top. handles great and is quick. still looks pretty good for 25 years old. use it all the time around town. have a Pathfinder for the road, but won't give my 310. gas mileage still good. cranks right up in the winter and it does get cold here in Montana. Needs a new speedometer and have not been able to find one. or even an instrument cluster.

Only about 86000 miles on it. just now getting broke in. if only all cars were made like this one.

Look in a 210 or F10 for a speedo, all you have to do is change the face plate and there you go... that's all I did.

Mike from Alberta, Canada.

I own a 1981 Datsun 310 GX with 93K original km. It's a Vancouver car so rust is minimal. Oil filters are getting harder to find-stock up! I love the car, great mileage and fun to drive (I put good tires on). Air filters too-stock up. Big gas tank! (50liters) That low geared Nissan 1.5L 4-speed needs a fifth for the flats. Revin' 3200RPM @ 100 km/hr (62 mp/hr) makes for higher than usual consumption. Reminds me of street bikes, getting better mileage in town than on highway sometimes! The rear wiper/defrost/spray all work! Being from Van. means no block heater. It's seen minus 55 celcius in Calgary, AB and fired right up! (With proper oil of course) The car's a gem, I LOVE JUMPING MY FRIENDS WITH NEW CARS IN THE WINTER. Ha! How's the payments? -Mike.
