"I love it!"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

The car needed suspension work immediately at purchase, also brakes, and a new water pump. it probably needs a new transmission (auto), fuel lines and a exhaust leak fixed. the passenger side door doesn't like to unlock with the key, but unlocks automatically when the drivers side is unlocked. the tripometer does not work. I don't have the code for the (original!) stereo. it needs paint for rock chips.

General comments?

This car is cute, fun to drive and reliable. even at 20years old, this car is responsive and fast. it does not leak any fluids, the sunroof works and the interior is not worn!

Adding to my previous review:

To date, I have spent about 6k on parts and labor for this old girl. mostly getting her up to date on maintenance, but there was a weird issue with her losing power in the rain that would go away when i'd been driving steadily for about 15 minutes... still love her to pieces though! have thought many times about selling for a larger vehicle (to haul kids and dogs and stuff) but I simply can't stand the thought of kicking her to the curb.

She gets 20mpg in the city, 30+mpg on the freeway. pretty decent for a car that has 216k miles on it and is 21 years old.
